Affected by serious attrition to the number of its salespersons as a result of a property market slowdown in Vietnam. More exactly due in part to the Covid-19 pandemic and also personal reasons of the other individual shareholders. Hence, the company underwent a period of consolidation.

The new joint-venture company achieved its best performing year in project sales and marketing, making 2019 a profitable one. Morover, there was also a new milestone in the number of salespersons registered with the company. Crossing over 175 salespersons.

2018
However, the company was not progressing along the direction as envisioned. Therefore, Aidan gained the consensus of several partners, and they decided to discontinue with the Huttons brand. In May 2018 the former joint-venture company was wounded-up. Later in June, Aidan spearheaded an approach of PropNex, the largest real estate agency in Singapore with an increasing focus on regional expansion. After that, discussions moved at an unprecedented pace with all parties being decisive. And in August the new joint-venture company was officially announced.

2017
2017 saw the joint-venture gain significant traction by increasing market share in its core business of residential project marketing. Additionally, the number of salespersons registered with the company also grew to approximately 100 strong. The company was appointed as lead agency for several projects by established international and local developers in HCMC. In fact, revenue increased steadily and by the end of 2017 the company was already profitable.

In April 2016, SoMot entered into a joint-venture with Huttons a top-4 real estate agency from Singapore to operate under its brand umbrella. At that time, Huttons was a pioneer in residential project marketing. This year was also significant as Aidan welcomed more partners of diverse backgrounds into the partnership.

SoMot Real Estate Agency became profitable within months due to low operation costs and stable income stream. With new found scalability and confidence, Aidan spearheaded a push to adopt an international brand name. In order to grow the business into a full-fledged real estate agency. More importantly so that the business can enjoy economies of scale and be resilient in a down market.

Regulatory changes opened-up Vietnam’s real estate market for foreigners to buy and own properties. Consequently, Aidan and a partner decided to restructure the company and rebuilt its business. The new company was to be SoMot Real Estate Agency. With Aidan leading the revamped company as its Managing Director.

Due to the effect of Vietnam’s extended economic crisis, Meyzer had to downsize due to increasing competition, stagnant property market and depleting cash reserves.

Meyzer Properties (Vietnam) outgrew its borrowed office and moved into a new 100 sqm office in District 1 HCMC. Increasing its head count to approximately 20 salespersons and 5 supporting staff. Also during this period there was a change in shareholders.

2008
Aidan founded a real estate agency within Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam in June 2008 together with 2 other partners. This company, Meyzer Properties (Vietnam) had its core business in corporate leasing, project marketing and resale. Working out of a 15 sqm room within a borrowed office in District 3 HCMC, Aidan built the business from ground up.
